1943 M1 Garand Rifle made by Springfield Armory (the US Arsenal, not the commercial firm) in late July of 1943. No Import Marks. This is a genuine US M1 Rifle, Caliber 30 in excellent condition. It went through an arsenal rebuild in 1964 at the Letterkenny Army Depot in August of 1964 and has been in storage since. The receiver leg bears the engraving LEAD 8-64. If you collect M1 Garands you may know that currently the LEAD rebuilds have become one of the more sought after M1 due to their interesting color, condition, and history. Rifle is in excellent condition with a bright bore and excellent rifling. The stock is VG or better Walnut, aged reddish brown, with a hint of the DoD Stamp. The stock appears to be a IHC stock due to the number in the barrel channel. Thie rifle would make an great John C Garand competition rifle with a TE of 3 and ME of 2.5+.
