The newest version of the 700P .338 has fixed the old issues from 2008. The 2010 version has a vastly improved floorplate and magazine system. The barrel issue reported in 2008 no longer seems to be an issue as mine shoots VERY well and others with the same model report similar results. Accurate looooong ran fun. Now if ammo would just come down in price!

Great rifle! Remington has a hit with this one. I had concerns after hearing some "faulty barrel" stories, but I have no complaints with mine. I shot 4 rounds to sight it in at 200 yards and immediately went to dinging steel at 560 yards! The only pain I felt was the price of the ammo!

I found no undesireable issues with my 700P MLR! It shoots very well, and with the stock recoil pad it is painless to shoot 50 rounds in a day. No doubt, it is a big rifle - the pictures don't do it justice. The barrel is big, the stock is big - guess it has to be to handle the massive and accurate .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge. For the money, this is a lot of rifle!
